瓢（ひさご）紋　

ウリ科の蔓性植物の果実。中央がくびれた

ユニークな形が風流人に愛された。

古くは、神霊が宿るとされ、祭具に用いられ、

神社の神紋としても、多く使われている。

 Hisago crest...  Hisago(a calabash) is a vine fruit of

gourd family.  It's unique center-narrowed shape is

loved by the people who refines elegance. 

Ancient people believed that god or ghost dwell

 on it, so it was used as a ritual utensil and 

holy crest of a Shinto Shrine.
